Distaffers in New York
Fillies and mares will be kicking off the graded stakes action in the Fall Championship Meet at Belmont Park this Saturday, September 6th when they meet up in the Gr. 1 $300,000 Ruffian Handicap. Last year Ginger Punch broke the record in this 1 1/16-mile race and then went on to win the Breeders' Cup Distaff (now known as the Ladies' Classic).
