Here’s a list of “supposed” Super Bowl day happenings and facts:

On days like the Super Bowl where people are glued to the TV and don’t move unless it’s to do a touchdown happy dance, the water usage during halftime reaches ultimate highs. When halftime hits, everyone makes a mad rush to the washrooms. In 1984, a water main broke in Salt Lake City on Super Bowl Sunday, and although it’s been verified that there is no connection between the broken water main and the Super Bowl, people like to pretend there is.

Holy guacamole! Apparently, Cinco de Mayo is the biggest day for avocado usage, but the Super Bowl comes in at a close second - the big game wouldn’t be the same without chips and dips.

Although Super Bowl Sunday seems like a good day to visit Disneyland and not have to wait in lines or fight the crowds, a Disneyland spokesperson has said that this isn’t the case. Apparently, despite Super Bowl being a huge event, Disneyland is not the desolate place people think it would be on game day.

Super Bowl is the biggest national sick day. It’s not unrealistic for a store manager to overstaff by a lot when he knows half of the people who are supposed to work will call in sick with Super Bowl-itis.

Supposedly, there is no other day of the year that compels people to drink more beer than on Super Bowl game day.

Although both sexes attentively watch the Super Bowl, in the days before the Super Bowl, lingerie sales supposedly go up because of women wanting to distract their significant others away from the game.

Even if these are all straight-up lies, it’s still fun to think about them and wait for new ones to arise!
