NCAA Basketball Betting Top 25 - Drake Bulldogs
by Bodog Sportsbook | Feb 25 2008

We are bringing you a preview of the top 25 college basketball teams in the nation (according to the current ESPN/USA Today Poll), one a day until Selection Sunday. Today we look at the current No. 20, the
Drake Bulldogs.
Strengths: Three-point shooting. The Bulldogs have four starters who can shoot threes. This keeps them in games where they trail at the half, holding a 7-1 record in those games. They are lead by former walk-on Adam Emmenecker, who holds a 3.97 GPA. Josh Young is an emerging star whose stats keep getting better as the season goes on.
Weaknesses: Lack of experience. Drake has never played in the Big Tournament; in fact, they’ve never even played in the NIT. This inexperience could be a major stumbling block when they are faced with the bright lights of March Madness. Also, they have no stars – no future NBA players on the team. The big question here is, when the big games come, will the academics-first Drake be able to overcome the sports powerhouses of the NCAA?

They’ve never been to either the NCAA or NIT Tournament but their big win over then-eighth ranked Butler all but assured themselves a high seed in the 2008 NCAA Tournament. Don’t pencil them into a Final Four or an Elite Eight spot but don’t be surprised if they win a couple games and bust a few brackets.
