North Carolina vs. Kansas
Roy Williams watched his former school absolutely blitz his current Tarheels team to the tune of a 28-point lead in the first half. What a difference it makes to not be playing in the friendly confines of North Carolina, as the Tarheels came out flat in San Antonio. The Tarheels turned the ball over repeatedly and went for stretched extending to 9 minutes without a field goal. Kansas would take a 17-point lead into the half. In the second half, the Tarheels came storming out of the gate and made a huge run to cut the deficit to 4- points. But the comeback may have took everything out of the tank of the Tarheels high octane offense. Kansas’s frontcourt dominated Tyler Hansbrough and the rest of the Tarheel forwards. The Jayhawks forwards owned the glass, eliminating any production on the inside for the Tarheels. Brandon Rush had the game of his life, attacking the hoop with fearless determination, he would finish with a game-high 25-points. Kansas would hold off the Tarheel comeback and respond with a convincing run to close out the game. Four Jayhawks would finish in double figures in points and down go the Tarheels! The Kansas Jayhawks advance to the National Championship game with the 84-66 victory. The stage is set, the Jayhawks will face the Memphis Tigers for all the marbles.

Memphis vs. UCLA
No team has ever reached 38 wins in a season, until today. The Memphis Tigers played a near flawless basketball game against the UCLA Bruins. Memphis was able to frustrate the Bruins perimeter players with their size much in the same way they were able to utilize their length advantage against Texas and Michigan State. UCLA had to battle hard just to keep the game close. Kevin Love was held in check by a platoon of defenders and Russell Westbrook seemed to be the only UCLA Bruin on the court who was comfortable with uptempo pace of the game. Memphis led by 3 at halftime. In the second half it was all Memphis. Chris Douglas-Roberts was completely unstoppable. CDR as he is known, was able to get any shot he wanted against the Bruin defense. Derrick Rose dominated Darren Collison, as the NBA caliber guard was simply too strong and too explosive for the Bruins defense. Memphis was able to fastbreak early and often on the usually stingy Bruins defense. CDR capped off the game with a thunderous dunk on Kevin Love, leveling him and the UCLA championship hopes to the ground. Memphis continues to roll; they advance to the National Championship game beating the UCLA Bruins 78-63.
