The Penn National Racetrack is situated outside of Grantville, Pennsylvania, a quiet residential area that houses 3,800 residents. Penn National Race Course celebrated its 33rd season in 2005 and continues to build on its foundation of history and tradition that has made it a major force in Central Pennsylvania's sports and entertainment market. Turf racing is featured on the track's nationally acclaimed seven-furlong course.
Penn National, which was originally owned and built by a group of Central Pennsylvania civic leaders, opened its doors to a crowd of 10,686 on August 30, 1972.
