Finger Lakes Racetrack is located in the Western New York state, nestled in the fertile valley of the Genesee River. This area is often called the "Northern Bluegrass". Finger Lakes opened in 1962 as a crowd of 9,200 arrived to make the track's first handle of $380,000. Since its conception in 1962, Finger Lakes has brought in over 17 million wagers and totaled $1.5 billion in wagers.
Finger Lakes is home to some very large and exciting races, such as the Grade 2 New York Derby, the Grade 3 Finger Lakes Breeder's Cup and the New York Oaks. Recently, Finger Lakes has taken on a massive renovation, spending over $10.5 million on a new video gaming area in its casino. This project took one year to complete.
