Trainer Carl Nafzger's Street Sense has never been worse than third in eight lifetime starts. Broke his maiden in his second start, at Arlington Park. Third in the $200,000 Arlington-Washington Breeder's Cup Futurity (G3) and the $500,000 Lane's End Breeders' Futurity (G1) at Keeneland, and then won the $2 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) at Churchill Downs by 10 lengths.

In his first start as a three-year-old, defeated Any Given Saturday by a nose in the $300,000 Tampa Bay Derby (G3). His time of 1:43.11 broke the track record for 1 1/16 miles. Finished second in the $750,000 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1) at Keeneland on April 14, a nose behind Dominican.

Street Sense was crowned champion of this year's Kentucky Derby after surging from the back of the pack to a convincing first-place finish. He appeared to be on his way to victory again in the Preakness Stakes, but Curlin outran him in the final stride.

Last year Street Sense was honored with an Eclipse Award for the outstanding two-year-old male horse. He is the first winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at two to win the Kentucky Derby at three.
