Nobiz Like Shobiz

Trainer Barclay Tagg's Nobiz Like Shobiz has a maiden special weight win at Belmont Park, a close second to Scat Daddy in the $400,000 Champagne Stakes (G1) at the same track, and a win in the $200,000 Remsen Stakes (G2) at Aqueduct.

Easily won his first start as a three-year-old in the $150,000 Holy Bull Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park but ran third in the $350,000 Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) at the same track on March 3 (once again behind Scat Daddy). Won the $750,000 Wood Memorial Stakes (G1) at Aqueduct on April 7 by half a length.

Nobiz Like Shobiz's post position is 14.

No Biz Like Shobiz placed 10th in the 2007 Kentucky Derby.

The fact that Nobiz Like Shobiz didn't win the Fountain of Youth Stakes might have been a blessing in disguise—the last time a three-year-old won the Fountain of Youth / Kentucky Derby double was in 1979.

Nobiz like Shobiz is named in honor of owner/breeder Elizabeth Valando's late husband, Tommy, whose record company produced the original cast albums for many of Broadway's top hits.

With graded earnings of $778,500, Nobiz Like Shobiz is fifth on the graded earnings list for Derby contenders.
