Stormello

Trainer/owner William Currin's Stormello broke his maiden in his second start, at Del Mar. Winner of the $250,000 Norfolk Breeders' Cup Stakes (G2), finished third in the $150,000 Best Pal Stakes (G2) and the $250,000 Del Mar Futurity (G2). Finished a distant fifth in the $2 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) at Churchill Downs and then came back for one last start in 2006 where he won the $250,000 Hollywood Futurity (G1).

In his first start of 2007, finished a close second to Scat Daddy in the $350,000 Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream Park. Set a sizzling pace in the $1 million Florida Derby (G1) on March 31 but couldn't match Scat Daddy in the stretch and finished fourth.

With graded earnings of $642,900, Stormello is seventh on the graded earnings list for Derby contenders.
