In his final start of 2006, finished third in the $200,000 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2) at Churchill Downs.

For his first start as a three-year-old, easily won the $100,000 Rushaway Stakes at Turfway Park. Thrust himself into the Derby picture with a nose victory over heavily favored Street Sense in the $750,000 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1) on April 14.

Dominican's post position is 19

Dominican's earnings from the Blue Grass Stakes have ensured him a spot in the Kentucky Derby, as the field for the Derby is determined by graded stakes earnings if more than 20 horses are entered. With graded earnings of $498,484, he is sitting in the eighth spot on the list.
