Bwana Bull

Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer's Bwana Bull took four tries to get a maiden win, but improved his two-year-old performance with a second and a win in allowance races.

Had a win in the $150,000 California Derby for his first start as a three-year-old. Won again in the $200,000 El Camino Real Derby (G3) at Bay Meadows. Finished fifth by 6 1/4 lengths in the $750,000 Santa Anita Derby (G1) in his last start.

Bwana Bull was scratched from the $100,000 Derby Trial after suffering superficial scrapes en route to Louisville. Instead, as his graded earnings of $125,000 place him on the top 20 list, he is expected to enter the Derby.
