Wheels

Wheels allow you to bet numerous combinations on one ticket by keying one (or more) horse(s) to finish in one position with any number of horses to finish in the remaining positions.

Exacta Wheels

If you've decided which horse will win the race but aren't sure about the second place finisher (or vice versa), you may want to place an Exacta Wheel where you key one horse with several others. For example, if you wheel the #2 horse with the #4, #5 and #7 horses (2 / 4, 5, 7), you'll win if the first two finishers are 2-4, 2-5 or 2-7. On the other hand, if you wheel the #4, #5 and #7 horses with the #2 horse (4, 5, 7 / 2), you'll win if the first two finishers are 4-2, 5-2 or 7-2.

How to place an Exacta Wheel:

  1. After signing in and selecting the race you want to bet on, click the Exacta tab. The horses running in the race are displayed in the race pane, along with the gate number, the name of the jockey and the Morning Line odds (ML) for each horse.
  2. Select the check box(es) for the first position horse(s) under the 1st column and the second position horse(s) under the 2nd column (see Figure 1).

As you pay for every possible combination of the horses you select, the cost of your wager goes up with each horse you add to the wheel. See How the Cost of Your Wager is Calculated to learn how the total cost of your Exacta Wheel is calculated.

Trifecta Wheels

A Trifecta Wheel is similar to an Exacta Wheel in that you are most commonly combining one horse with several others. For example, if you think that the #9 horse will win the race and that the #3 and #5 horses are equally likely to finish second and third, you could construct your Trifecta Wheel in this fashion: 9 / 3, 5 / 3, 5. You'll win if the first three finishers are 9-3-5 or 9-5-3. You can also construct a Trifecta Wheel with more then one horse in each spot (e.g., 3, 5 / 3, 5 / 1, 2, 4, 6, 7).

How to place a Trifecta Wheel:

  1. After signing in and selecting the race you want to bet on, click the Trifecta tab. The horses running in the race are displayed in the race pane, along with the gate number, the name of the jockey and the Morning Line odds (ML) for each horse.
  2. Select the check box(es) for the first position horse(s) under the 1st column, the second position horse(s) under the 2nd column and the third position horse(s) under the 3rd column (see Figure 1).

As you pay for every possible combination of the horses you select, the cost of your wager goes up with each horse you add to the wheel. See How the Cost of Your Wager is Calculated to learn how the total cost of your Trifecta Wheel is calculated.

Superfecta Wheels

Like a Trifecta Wheel, with a Superfecta Wheel you are most commonly combining one horse with several others. For example, you might want to construct your Superfecta Wheel keying the #2 horse to win with the #3, #5 and #6 horses to finish second, third and fourth (2 / 3, 5, 6 / 3, 5, 6 / 3, 5, 6). You'll win if the first four finishers are 2-3-5-6, 2-3-6-5, 2-5-3-6, 2-5-6-3, 2-6-3-5 or 2-6-5-3. You can also construct a Superfecta Wheel with more then one horse in each spot (e.g., 3, 5 / 3, 5 / 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 / 1, 2, 4, 6, 7).
