Bodog Sportsbook, Casino and Poker™ has released additional proposition wagers for the 2004 Olympic Summer Games in Athens, Greece.
With the opening ceremony set to kick off this Friday, August 13, 2004, Bodog has raised the bar and added some intriguing proposition wagers to play with.
“Our prop wagers are always the ones most talked about. With the Olympics being the most talked about event in sports this summer, it just seems like a natural fit to release as many prop wagers as possible,” said Rob Gillespie, former book manager and respected industry author. “Head to head battles, fellow teammates facing off against each other, and total medals are all items that the loyal Bodog clients have been asking for - so here you go!”
For total medal counts, you can wager on the over/under format for the top competing countries at the Olympics. For U.S.A., the number of combined medals is set 104.5, with the over being the favorite at –120, and the under set at –110. Russia, listed with a medal count of 87.5, also has the over favored at –120, and the under listed at –110. Another option for total medals pits Country vs. Country in some intriguing head to head battles. With U.S.A. being an Olympic powerhouse, they will be facing the total medals of Australia and Germany combined. U.S.A. is listed as the favorite at –120, with Australia/Germany combination listed at –110. Italy is favored to capture more total medals than Cuba, with Italy sitting at –125, and Cuba listed at –105.
Bodog is also offering total Gold Medals won at the games, and once again, U.S.A. is listed as the favorite at 10/11 odds. Russia, China, and Australia are all tied, listed behind U.S.A. at 7/2 odds. American swimmers Michael Phelps and Ian Thorpe will be competing against each other in 4 events at the games, and we have listed a head to head battle for these two dominant swimmers. Michael Phelps is listed as the favorite to capture more Gold Medals than Thorpe, with Phelps’ odds at –110, and Thorpe listed at +140.
“We will be releasing additional props and wagers as the games progress, and as more opportunities become available,” said Gillespie. “Let the games begin!”
