Press Release - San Diego Chargers Betting

December 9, 2003

Will Drew Brees Be Back In the Starting Role for San Diego?

Bodog.com Sportsbook, Casino and Poker™ has released odds on the Quarterback to lead the San Diego Chargers next season.

With Drew Brees showing no more talent than Rob Johnson, Doug Flutie has seemingly taken another young QB’s spot on the field. With Flutie playing relatively well, and Brees not playing at all, it poses the question "who will be leading the offence next season?"

“Flutie may be 41 years old, but he is still outplaying a number of young Quarterbacks in the league,” said Rob Gillespie, President of Bodog.com Sportsbook, Casino and Poker. "The potential for numerous Quarterbacks to change teams this year is very good; you can bank on the Chargers being one of the first teams to make a move.”

Within the past few weeks a number of Quarterback's names have been mentioned in trade of release rumors, which only adds to the excitement of choosing the right man for the right team. Jacksonville Jaguars QB Mark Brunell is the odds on favorite at 9/5, while exiled Carolina Panther QB Rodney Peete is the long shot at 20/1 odds. Current Flutie backup, Drew Brees, is listed at 9/2.

“As contenders become pretenders, teams will begin the acquisition process for next season,” said Gillespie. “If San Diego continues down their current path, they may also be in the running for Ole Miss Super Senior Eli Manning.”
