Bodog.com taps New York Jets as favorite to be Keyshawn Johnson’s team in 2004.

Bodog Sportsbook, Casino and Poker has posted odds on where Keyshawn Johnson will play his first game in the 2004 season.

Star receiver Keyshawn Johnson will be looking for a new home next year now that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided to bench him for the remainder of the current season. Bodog’s odds makers have made Johnson’s return to the New York Jets the favorite at 9/5. Johnson played his first four seasons with the Jets after being selected as the first overall pick in the 1995 draft.

"Johnson is famed for asking people to throw him the damn ball," said Bodog President, Rob Gillespie. "But the truth is that since moving on to Tampa he hasn’t been in the end zone all that often to catch it."

Other notable possibilities include the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots at 3/1. The Patriots are well positioned financially and in next seasons draft to pick up someone like Johnson, especially given their woes at receiver. The Dallas Cowboys are listed at 11/2 and it is hinted that Johnson desires to play for Cowboy coach Bill Parcells. The New York Giants are listed at 7/1 while Miami, Cleveland, and Philadelphia are all listed at 12/1.

"By the sounds of it, there isn’t much of a chance that he’ll ever play for Jon Gruden again." said Gillespie. "By the same token he is only halfway through his $56 million contract which might scare off any potential suitors."

Bodog’s odds makers have made a return to Tampa Bay the ultimate long shot at 250/1.

"There is no doubt that Johnson is extremely talented," said Gillespie. "But his growing amount of baggage and attitude are not a good selling point and they have obviously hurt the team dynamic of the Bucs."
