The New York Mets held off a late rally to defeat the New York Yankees 7-4 in Interleague play Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.
The Mets won the game as -130 favorites, and the 11 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (8).
David Wright went 3-for-5 at the plate, including a two-run homer for the Mets. Johan Santana threw 7 2-3 innings for the win, and Billy Wagner went the rest of the way for his ninth save.
Derek Jeter, Jason Giambi and Bobby Abreu all went deep in a losing effort for the Yankees. Andy Pettitte gave up three runs off seven hits over six innings to suffer the loss.
