The New York Yankees held off a late rally and defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 2-1 Wednesday night at Tropicana Field.
New York won the game as +125 underdogs, but the three runs fell UNDER the posted over/under (8.5).
Robinson Cano went 4-for-4 at the plate with one RBI for the Yankees. Mike Mussina allowed five hits and one run over 6 1-3 innings for the win, and Mariano Rivera notched his 11th save.
Dioner Navarro had two hits and drove in the lone Rays run. James Shields gave up both runs and was tagged with the loss.
